When I first met this sweet family a few months ago, they were a family of three with baby sister on the way. And now, it’s as though she’s always been here, listening to stories, wiggling herself free from her swaddle and getting some sweet lovin’ from her big brother.
I still remember when I was pregnant with my second child, how I worried about the life changing event that was about to happen to my firstborn. Would he freak out, would he hate the new baby, would he hate us for having the new baby? But not to fear parents! In no time, they are sharing their stuffed animals and kissing little baby toes like this has always been the way it was.
I feel so honored to be welcomed into a family’s home, especially after the birth of a new baby. Often, much feels unsettled and chaotic and messy, but there are so many sweet moments and beauty in that chaos!
